Thanks for visiting my "About" page. I'll try to make it brief.
In 2000, I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BFA and a concentration in design and advertising.
After college, I landed the perfect job as a Graphic Designer at an Advertising Agency. What are the chances?
Then, the Dot Com Crash arrived. Several months later, I became a victim of the dreaded downsize, and found myself unable to get back into the industry for some time. I kept my skills sharp through freelance projects and classes, but I needed a new career path. All the time knowing my heart was with design.
I became a Real Estate Agent; the housing market crashed. I became a membership advisor for a few Chicago health clubs. I sharpened my sales skills, but started losing sight of how I wanted to sell products and services. I decided I was giving up the verbal sell game. I refocused and decided my path was to communicate from concept to customer. I needed to sell through color, design and type.
"Graphic designer for hire" was my marketing ploy and it worked.
The Chicago Sun-Times was so impressed with my genius marketing slogan that they hired me to be one of their talented marketing designers. Who would have thought it would have been that easy? You could say I was at the right place at the right time, but I believe in fate.
In 2014, I decided to broaden my skills and accepted a position as a Senior Designer/ Experience Designer to sharpen my UX chops. I couldn't be happier sculpting the digital landscape for users. I am always up for the next challenge and excited to see where this goes. Can't wait to peel back the next layer and create something that changes everything.
I'm happily married to my amazing wife and I am the proud father of my son, Jack.
My life is pretty damn good, sometimes beautiful.
